Your installation package contains all of the files that are needed for CRM version 3. There are two major phases to the installation – the program portion and the database tools portion. Please follow these steps:
- You MUST have administrator credentials to complete this installation. You MUST start the setup program by right-clicking and choosing Run As Administrator. It is NOT sufficient to be logged into the system with an administrator account.
- PART 1: Right-click on the setup.exe program in the install package and select Run as Administrator. This will start the InstallShield wizard.
- NOTE: There may be a long delay after you have accepted all of the settings and licensing. The setup program will be unpacking a lot of files during this time. Do not think that it is hung – it will eventually show the progress bar for actual installation of files. If you do not have the .Net Framework 4.5, it will install that, which takes several minutes. Please be patient!
- PART 2: When the InstallShield Wizard completes, it will launch the second part of the installation process, shown below:
- Leave all items checked and click on Install. You may see Windows security requests for several of these steps. Click Yes to allow the installation for each one that appears.
- You will see a black command window during the install as the SQL Server installation begins – this is normal. Please be patient! You will later see a SQL Server installation screen showing you its progress. This will take a while – please be patient!
- You will be asked to create an account that you will use with CRM. The password you select MUST meet all of your Windows password requirements for complexity (i.e., upper/lower case, numbers or special characters).
- When this program completes, and all steps were successful, you will be ready to use CRM v3 trial edition. You will find an icon on your desktop with red and blud stars. If any portion of this program fails to complete successfully, call us for help. Most common reason for failure is that you are not running the entire installation as administrator as noted above.
- Use the account you created during installation, or the following log-in credentials: UserID = Install, Password = password
